Eco Yoga Retreats
FAQs
How much yoga is there — and do I have to do it?

It’s completely up to you.
Malolo is a retreat of deep rest — a week to slow down, breathe, and reconnect at your own pace.
Each day, Justine will guide a gentle, flowing yoga practice designed to open the body and calm the mind. Hugh will offer a beautiful balance of Qi Gong, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation — along with a Mindfulness Workshop to deepen your awareness and help you bring these practices into daily life.
All sessions are accessible for every level, whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner. You’re welcome to join as much or as little as feels right for you — this is your time to rest, restore, and simply be.
If yoga isn’t your thing, that’s perfectly fine too. There’s space to read, swim, nap, explore, or simply listen to the ocean and do absolutely nothing at all.
What if I've never been on retreat before?
It's such a gift to yourself to take on this special experience. Don't you worry about a thing. Our retreat is a small group of people. All the yoga classes are completely modifiable. We will take good care of you and your body.
This is about giving yourself the opportunity this year to get out of your crazy rat race, and take some time to unwind deeper then you ever have before. The question is, are you willing to invest in yourself?
Can I go solo?
Yes! We have lots of solo yogis join us for this retreat! You’ll meet lots of like-minded people and make lifelong friends. There is plenty of space to breakaway, but also lots of opportunity to join into a group activity, it’s up to you. This experience is powerful and if you’re looking for a week of rejuvenation, connection, laughter, and yoga this retreat might just be the perfect adventure!
Will meal times be shared?
Yes — most meals will be shared, a time to connect and enjoy beautiful island flavours together. Each day we’ll gather for a two-course breakfast to begin the day slowly and well-nourished.
During the week, we’ll also share a couple of special celebration banquets and a traditional lunch, honouring the tastes and stories of Samoa.
Outside of these shared meals, you’re free to order whatever you like from the resort restaurant or nearby cafés — whether you feel like quiet solo time or a casual meal with new friends.
This is your retreat — eat, rest, and connect in the way that feels best for you.

Dietary Requirements
Yes — we can cater to all dietary needs.
Our resident Samoan chef at Aga Reef Resort creates beautiful, locally sourced vegetarian and vegan dishes for all included meals — breakfasts, banquets, and our shared traditional lunch.
Outside of these meals, you’re free to order whatever you like from the resort restaurant or nearby cafés. Freshly caught fish will also be available to purchase for those who’d like to enjoy the island’s seafood.
Our resort team is experienced and happy to accommodate any specific dietary requirements — simply let us know in advance, and we’ll take care of you.
What travel documents do I need?
Get your passport ready!! Maybe go and check it now.
A visa is not required for Samoa. You will be issued with a 60-visitor permit on arrival. If you plan on driving in Samoa, you will need your drivers license and will have to purchase a temporary license.
How do I get to Aga Reef Resort?
A transfer bus will gather our yogis on the first day of the retreat from select pick-up points and bring everyone to the resort together — your journey into stillness begins here.
At the end of the retreat, we’ll return you via the same drop-off points, so you can simply relax and stay in your flow.
If you arrive earlier or need transport outside these times, we’re connected with a trusted local transport service who can take you wherever you need to go (at your own cost).
Because flights to Samoa can be limited and sometimes arrive late at night, we recommend coming a day early and resting at a nearby resort before the transfer bus on retreat day.
We’re happy to share some favourite places to stay — peaceful spots to ease gently into island time.

What if I arrive in Samoa early?
As flights to Samoa aren’t as frequent as other destinations, you may wish to arrive a day early or stay an extra night after the retreat.
If you do arrive early, you’ll need to arrange your own transfer to your accommodation. We can connect you with a trusted local taxi service, or your chosen resort may offer airport transfers. We’re also happy to recommend peaceful places to stay.
We suggest staying near the airport, as the retreat resort is around two hours away — and it’s not the most relaxing taxi ride in the middle of the night or after a red-eye flight.
Check-in for the September 2026 retreat begins at 2pm on Tuesday 22 September 2026.

Do I have to go on the tours, and what other options are there?
Every offering on the retreat is optional — you can dive in or dip out as much as you wish. This is your time for you.
At Aga Reef Resort, you’ll have access to kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, and snorkelling gear. The resort sits beside a protected reef that’s currently being restored. Although some coral has been damaged, the marine life remains vibrant — you’ll still find plenty of fish, and if you’re lucky, a turtle or two may glide past.
Beyond the resort, we offer a selection of guided tours — all weather dependent and designed to showcase the island’s natural beauty and culture:

What if I'm not a strong swimmer?
There are lots of options if you’re not wanting to snorkel. In Samoa, just walking out into the water is an experience in itself. The water is warm, and crystal clear.
