FAQs

How much Yoga is there and do I have to do it?

It's up to you. On offer we have 2 x 60-90 minute classes each day. 1 will be a yoga flow, the other will be yin or restorative style practices. There will also be sound healing woven through the restorative practices

We have a Yoga Workshop as well to assist with developing your practice.

The yoga will be accessible to all yoga levels

Additional yoga 1:1 or specific group workshops are available for an extra charge. If you are an advanced practitioner or just starting out on your yoga journey, your practice will change significantly on this retreat. At the end of the week you will feel amazing. If yoga isn’t your jam and you're along for the ride, that’s cool too, there is lots of other stuff to do.

What if I've never been on retreat before?
It's such a gift to yourself to take on this special experience. Don't you worry about a thing. Our retreat is a small group of people. All the yoga classes are completely modifiable. We will take good care of you and your body.

This is about giving yourself the opportunity this year to get out of the business of your life, and take some time to unwind deeper then you ever have before.

Can I go solo?

Yes! We have lots of solo yogis join us for this retreat! You’ll meet lots of like-minded people and make lifelong friends. There is plenty of space to breakaway, but also lots of opportunity to join into a group activity, it’s up to you. This experience is powerful and if you’re looking for a week of rejuvenation, connection, laughter, and yoga this retreat might just be the perfect adventure!

Will meal times be shared?
Meal times will be shared. However if you wish, you can take your meal back to your room for some quiet time as well.

Dietary requirements
Yes, we can cater to all dietary requirements. Aga Reef resident Samoan Chef will prepare locally sourced Vegan & Vegetarian food. Freshly caught seafood will be on offer to purchase.

What travel documents do I need?

Get your passport ready!! Maybe go and check it now.

A visa is not required for Samoa. You will be issued with a 60-visitor permit on arrival. If you plan on driving in Samoa, you will need your drivers license and will have to purchase a temporary license.

How do I get to Aga Reef Resort?

A transfer bus will gather our yogis on the first day of the retreat from select pick-up points and bring everyone to the resort together — your journey into stillness begins here.
At the end of the retreat, we’ll return you via the same drop-off points, so you can simply relax and stay in your flow.

If you arrive earlier or need transport outside these times, we’re connected with a trusted local transport service who can take you wherever you need to go (at your own cost).

Because flights to Samoa can be limited and sometimes arrive late at night, we recommend coming a day early and resting at a nearby resort before we collect you on retreat day.
We’re happy to share some favourite places to stay — peaceful spots to ease gently into island time.

What if I arrive in Samoa early?
As flights to Samoa aren’t as frequent as other destinations, you may wish to arrive a day early or stay an extra night after the retreat.

If you do arrive early, you’ll need to arrange your own transfer to your accommodation. We can connect you with a trusted local taxi service, or your chosen resort may offer airport transfers. We’re also happy to recommend peaceful places to stay.

We suggest staying near the airport, as the retreat resort is around two hours away — and it’s not the most relaxing taxi ride in the middle of the night or after a red-eye flight.

Check-in for the August 2026 retreat begins at 2pm on Saturday, 1st August.

Do I have to go on the tours, and what other options are there?

Every offering on the retreat is optional — you can dive in or dip out as much as you wish. This is your time for you.

At Aga Reef Resort, you’ll have access to kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, and snorkelling gear. The resort sits beside a protected reef that’s currently being restored. Although some coral has been damaged, the marine life remains vibrant — you’ll still find plenty of fish, and if you’re lucky, a turtle or two may glide past.

Beyond the resort, we offer a selection of guided tours — all weather dependent and designed to showcase the island’s natural beauty and culture:

  • Eastern Samoa Waterfalls & Village Pool Tour

  • Secret Beach & To Sua Trench Adventure

  • Secluded Island Visit

Whether you choose to explore or simply stay and rest by the sea, every moment is yours to savour.

If you are super keen to explore more, we also have tours available for extra charge

  • Surf Tour – the guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to some of Polynesia best surf spots. As you will be going outside the reef, you will have to be an experienced surfer.

  • Apia Market, Robert Louis Stevenson Museum.

  • Giant Clams

  • Experienced snorkel tour outside the reef.

  • Spa Day and fancy lunch with spectacular views.

What if I'm not a strong swimmer?

There are lots of options if you’re not wanting to snorkel. In Samoa, just walking out into the water is an experience in itself. The water is warm, and crystal clear.
